Our Beliefs

About Salvation.

Salvation is the gift of God to us through the sacrifice and resurrection of His son Jesus offered to every individual. It is up to each person to choose whether or not to accept this gift, and is required in order for us to enter into eternity with God. It cannot be gained, acquired, or earned by anything we do. We receive salvation when we acknowledge our own sin, ask God to forgive us, and accept Jesus as both the sacrifice for our sin and Lord over our lives. When we have received this gift, it is eternal and cannot be undone, keeping us secure by the mighty power of God. Salvation of an individual is recognized by their obedience to God and the perseverance of their faith in Him.

About the Bible.

The Bible is God’s Word to us, penned by men who were inspired by the Holy Spirit. He used their unique styles and personalities to give us the perfect, faultless Scriptures. It is the source by which man can better know God and find guidance for godly living.

About the Church.

Jesus is the founder and builder of the church, establishing it during His ministry on earth. The church exists to live out His Great Commandment — Love God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and love others as yourself — and fulfill His Great Commission — make disciples, baptize them, and teach them to follow Him. This is accomplished by believers devoting themselves to the teaching of God’s Word, worshipping together, fellowship, prayer, and provision for one another. It is a local assembly of believers gathered together to achieve this purpose.

About Baptism.

Baptism is an act of obedience commanded and demonstrated by Jesus. It is seen throughout Scripture as only ever being by immersion, illustrating the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is done as a step of public proclamation and devotion of a believer performed by the authority given to the New Testament church. It is neither the means nor the securing of one’s salvation, it is an important step in the discipleship of a believer.

Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:12; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:1-2

ABOUT Communion.

Communion, also known as the Lord’s Supper, is an ordinance of the church done as an act of worship in remembrance of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus by the breaking of bread and drinking the fruit of the vine as we anticipate His return.

About God.

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, the giver and sustainer of life. He is holy, just, and righteous in His nature, omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (always present), and omnipotent (all-powerful). God has eternally existed in three manifestations as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

  • the Father.

The Father is equal to Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. As the Father He displays righteousness, is glorified through the Son (Jesus), and is just while also giving justice. He loves all mankind, shows mercy and grace to His creation, corrects us through discipline, provides for our needs, and adopts into His family those willing to accept salvation through His Son.

    Psalm 103:6-18; John 17:1-5; Romans 8:15; Ephesians 1:5; Philippians 4:19; Hebrews 12:5-11

  • the Son: Jesus.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is equal to the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross, fulfilling the law and prophecies foretold. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

  • the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is equal to the Father and Jesus, the Son of God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ.  He also dwells in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He is the power of God in each believer, giving Christians comfort for the soul, conviction of sin, understanding of spiritual truths,  and guidance in doing what is right.  As Christians, we strive to allow His control over our lives daily.

About Eternity.

Humankind was created to exist forever. There are therefore two eternal destinations following this life: Heaven — the dwelling place of God and His intended home for us — or Hell — eternal torment separated from the presence of God. We will either exist eternally separated from God because of our sin, or spend eternity with God by asking His forgiveness and accepting His salvation to us through Jesus.

John 3:16-21; John 14:17; Romans 6:23; Romans 8:17-18; 1 Corinthians 2:7-9; 2 Peter 2:4-10; Revelation 20:15

About HuManity.

Humanity was created in the image of God as the supreme object of His creation. Although every person has the great potential for good, all of us are broken in our relationship with God because of our disobedience toward Him, which is called sin. This disobedience separates us from God.
